Lately, we’ve been noticing more and more Galaxy Notes appearing in the wild, and if a product makes a prominent appearance (regardless of how ridiculously large it is), more and more cases will start appearing. Today, we have our hands on the Leather Style Flip Case for the Galaxy Note II from MobileFun, and we’ll be taking a look to see if it is worth your time and money to put it on your Note.
Design
The case is made from a leather-like material (pleather, anyone?), but unlike most cases from this material, the Leather Style Flip Case (hereafter known as “Flip”) is actually really well built and feels like real leather. The Flip is a book-style case and features a flip cover that protects the screen and on the inside of the case, it has a hard plastic shell that keeps your device from going anywhere. On the inside of the leather, you will find a microfiber lining which does a good job at keeping your screen protected. The case itself is black and adds minimal height to your case, so it isn’t a gigantic/gaudy thick case. Also on the inside of the flip cover, you will find two pockets in which you can keep cards, your ID, paper, money, receipts, etc.
Functionality
The Flip feels like a pretty substantial case and is a great bet to use on a daily basis, especially if you only want to take your phone with you.
The case feels like it would protect your phone from minimal drops (nothing too hard or forceful), such as drops when coming out of your pocket, etc. The slip pockets that are inside the case cover are great at keeping enough things to just let you take your phone with your essentials. I would be slightly hesitant to put a credit card into one of these pockets due to the close proximity to the device (with the chance of demagnetization), however if your card is immune to cell phones, these pockets will work wonders. As for the cut-outs for the different ports, each cut out is great. Getting the pen out of the bottom of the Note II can be a little tricky for the first few times due to the flip cover slightly covering the edge of the pen. However, it’s not too terribly challenging, and isn’t that big of a limitation.
