To me, there has always been a sense of irony when I see a Microsoft Office product on any Apple product, due to the controversial topic of Mac versus PC. Mac users claim that PC’s are difficult to use, but love the easy-to-use interface of Office products.

Looking past that, though, it makes sense for Microsoft to expand their customer base for Office. They have already made Office for Macs, as I mentioned, but it looks as though they’re expanding even further, to the iPad. This iPad-ready version is going to be joined by an OS X Lion version, too, sometime next year. Its price point is thought to be set as $10 like other Apple productivity apps such as Pages, Numbers, and Keynote products.

For you PC users, don’t worry, the Windows update of Office 2012 is already in beta form, so it should be released to the public soon enough!
