Video Review: KONNET PowerEZ Plus Review

The KONNET PowerEZ Plus comes with a USB to micro-USB connection cable and a carrying pouch, both of which are great additions, but it is the kickstand on the back that sets the external battery apart from its competitors. The PowerEZ Plus is available from http://www.konnetonline.com/ for the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of $29.99, and I would like to thank KONNET for sending this product out for review!

First, though, the technical details. The PowerEZ Plus is a 1000 mAh li-polymer battery, which will charge your iPod or iPhone to about 60% of its complete battery life. It has short-circuit and over-current protection, with an LED charging status indicator.

The USB to micro-USB cable is used for charging the external battery, and the carrying pouch is a great edition that allows you to take the EZ Plus on the go without worrying about scratches or other damages.

The kickstand allows you to watch movies and videos even when using the external battery, as well as just leave your iDevice resting in landscape mode when charging.

To find out how much battery your PowerEZ Plus has left, just click the power button once. There are three LED lights – three lit up mean the battery is at full power, two represent about half power, and one signifies that the battery is almost or fully drained.

The pros of the product are that it is easily portable, has a kickstand for video viewing, and a carrying pouch is included.

The cons of the product are that the external battery is not a case, so the 30-pin connector may snap off, the case when fully charged only recharges your iDevice to 60%, and the only charging option is via computer, as no A/C wall adapter is included.

You may be wondering: is this product for you? If you use your iDevice frequently, and constantly find it running out of battery life, then yes, and the convenient carrying pouch and kick stand are nice additions to the external battery that give it an edge on other external batteries.
