Today, Apple held an event in San Francisco announcing the new iPad. Steve Jobs made an appearance, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. He started out by going into the stats Apple has put up in the last year. They have sold over 100 million iPhones so far. He then started to talk about the iPad 2.
So here’s the specs in the iPad 2:
A5 Chip (Dual Core Processors, 2x faster CPU, 9x faster graphics.)
Front and back facing cameras (this means Facetime, and other applications such as Photobooth.)
Built-in Gyroscope
8.8 mm thin (Thinner than both the previous iPad and the iPhone 4.)
Ships March 11 in both White and Black models.
Available with AT&T and Verizon
iPad 2 will be the same price as the previous model.
Includes iOS 4.3
iOS 4.3 includes iMovie and Garageband for the iPad.
Overall, I believe this is a big upgrade from the first-generation, and recommend purchasing it if you have the money.
