Those of you who read TRG a lot know that I tend to run in the other direction when it comes to posting rumors. I absolutely hate it, until so many people have confirmed it to where it becomes news instead of a rumor. That has just happened with Apple’s media event supposedly introducing the iPhone 5, the iPad mini, and a new iPod nano.

This morning, a report from iMore this morning claimed that Apple would be holding an event to unveil the new products on September 12 ahead of September 21 availability for the new iPhone. Then, AllThingsD chirped in by confirming an event will be taking place that week. Both iMore and AllThingsD have sources that have been proven to be accurate in the past.

The Verge‘s Dante D’Orazio has also confirmed that the event will be taking place on September 12th. Following all of the confirmations today, an established reporter who is known to peg Apple’s dates, The Loop‘s Jim Dalrymple, had this to say about the event.

Yep.

Overall, we are pretty positive that the event will be happening on September 12.
